The Story of the First Step
Every initiation has a story that begins with a dream, a wish, and a will that kindles a fire of a long-lasting narrative. As Nur Pillow family, we invite you to share the story of our wonderful journey, which began seven years ago.
Nur Hostetler is an experienced interior designer and real estate agent dedicated to pursuing the creative and new. She has always been interested in art and design. Her inclination to creative works developed during her teenage years, adding a considerable artistic taste. During this period, she observed the cultural foundations of her environment and adapted the authentic conventions to modern design. In her early works, she attempted to present the mosaic harmony of the Eastern and Western cultures merging in single units and, thus, proceeding beyond continental barriers. She believed in the incorporator holistic power of art and based her production on this principle.
Nur earned her professional degree from The Art Institute of California seven years ago. During her college years, she focused on murals and paintings, whereby she highlighted her talent in integrated art forms. After her graduation, she developed an interest in residential and commercial design. These steps led Nur to follow a professional career in interior design, which took its roots in her hometown, Turkey and eventually landed in California, USA.
During her notably successful career, Nur appeared in many prestigious exhibitions, nominations, and interviews addressed as an iconic name in the design world. Her background in Turkey and acquisition of Turkish culture enabled her to synthesize the appropriations of Eastern and Western artistic fashions. Hence, she developed her unique tone in her productions, which ended up with the foundation of the Nur Pillow Company.
Living in the USA for thirty-three years, Nur Hostetler is an international designer. Yet more significantly, she is a passionate advocator of environmental awareness and sensitivity. She is a mother of two beautiful daughters who always give her inspiration and motivation. And this compassionate portrait is completed with their three cats and dog. In addition, Nur donates and personally helps street animals.
Nur’s environmental considerations appear in her designs also. Nur Pillow products illustrate many figures from the natural environment and exotic contexts, including symbolic natural elements from Turkish culture. The fabric of the products is Turkish-oriented and environmental-friendly with a specially developed texture mixing silk and Vegan Cupro. Thus, Nur Pillow represents its creator’s motto: Art is the ultimate healer that brings out good and beautiful in everything you touch, everywhere you live, and every breath you take.
